The Holy Karbala Statistics Directorate revealed the date on which it is hoped to conduct the electronic population census in Iraq next year, and indicated that the approved population of Holy Karbala is one million (350) thousand people, while the actual number of people arriving to it reaches three million people.
The director of the Holy Karbala Census, Abbas Tami Al-Masoudi, said in an interview with Noon News Agency, “The directorate is one of the formations of the Central Bureau of Statistics affiliated with the Ministry of Planning. He explained, "The first experiment was in three neighborhoods in the Al-Husseiniyah district, in the Al-Atishi, Al-Shuhada, and Al-Rasul neighborhoods. It was a successful experiment and electronic transmission was adopted, which reduces time and effort and extracting results. It was implemented by an advanced team from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry. It was a census conducted through Iraqi self-efforts, and not as happened in Egypt and Jordan."
