Yesterday, Wednesday, the compass of security operations turned towards three governorates, to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs and storm their hideouts, according to accurate intelligence information.
Since dawn, joint units of the army and the Popular Mobilization Forces began carrying out the first of these operations from three axes, to track down terrorist cells and raid and search a number of areas and villages located in the Hatra desert southwest of Nineveh Governorate.
Another inspection operation in the governorate was carried out in the Muhallabiya district in the Adaya mountain range, during which an underground tunnel 30 meters long and two meters wide was found, inside which were rooms suitable for hiding people and storing weapons and ammunition. Home-made explosive devices were found in the form of plastic containers of various types and sizes, with materials inside them. High explosive and SPG9 rockets.
Coinciding with the inspections, Nineveh also witnessed an intelligence operation, which resulted in the arrest of five terrorists. During their interrogation, they frankly admitted their affiliation to ISIS terrorist gangs, and in return they were receiving sums of money.
The governorates of Baghdad and Babil witnessed inspections, within the framework of the duties of confiscating weapons in the hands of the state, the first of which was in the areas of (Al-Islah, Al-Muhandiseen, and Al-Sakalat) within the capital sector, during which rifles and pistols were found, while in the (Al-Hota Desert) area, 10 mortar rounds were found, All materials were seized and dealt with properly by the forces executing the duty.
