Dollar prices rose yesterday, Saturday, in the markets of Baghdad and the governorates, while the Central Bank confirmed that dollar shipments sent by the US Federal Bank are proceeding according to a specific schedule and timings.
The selling prices of 100 dollars rose with the opening of the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya stock exchanges to record 158,500 Iraqi dinars, while purchasing prices reached 156,500 dinars for every 100 dollars.
In a statement from the Central Bank, it confirmed that the dollar shipments sent by the US Federal Bank are proceeding according to a specific schedule and timings agreed upon between the two monetary institutions.
In a statement, the Central Bank denied “media news and reports that talk about stopping or reducing shipments sent to the bank,” noting that last Thursday the shipment was received on time.
He called on the media to "be careful in publishing information related to monetary policy in Iraq and take it from its approved sources through the official website and official accounts on social media sites."
In another context, the Central Bank of Iraq's total sales of hard currency in US dollars during the past week amounted to more than 775 million dollars.
During the past week and for the five days in which the auction was opened, the Central Bank sold 775 million 219 thousand and 316 dollars, at a daily rate of 193 million 804 thousand and 840 dollars, lower than what it recorded last week, which amounted to 194 million 293 thousand and 616 dollars.
The highest dollar sales were on Wednesday, when sales amounted to 196 million, 613 thousand and 962 dollars, while the lowest sales were on Monday, when sales amounted to 192 million, 602 thousand and 190 dollars.
Foreign remittance sales during the past week amounted to 720 million, 590 thousand and 841 dollars, an increase of 95% compared to cash sales, which amounted to 37 million and 940 thousand dollars.
The sales went in the form of cash and transfers abroad to finance foreign trade, while the selling price of the amounts of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards reached 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price of the amounts of transfers abroad and the cash selling price reached 1,310 dinars per dollar.
