    Information/Baghdad...
Political differences, especially stubbornness on the part of the Kurdistan Regional Government, prevented some important laws from being suspended and their approval postponed until further notice, the most important of which is the oil and gas law.

The political parties confirm that there is no seriousness to pass such a law, despite the country’s need for it in order to ensure a fair distribution of wealth among the people. However, the will of Barzani’s Kurds may stand as a stumbling block for the government to complete this law and hand it over to Parliament in order to pass it.
It indicates the possibility of voting on it, whether with the approval or rejection of the Kurdish representatives, but such laws are not decided through the House of Representatives, but rather are subject to political consensus between all components, especially the center and the region.

A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiyath Al-Sourji, told Al-Maalouma, “The need has become urgent to resolve the oil and gas law between Baghdad and Erbil, and he urged Parliament to pass it with the aim of ending disputes and closing the door to tensions over this matter.”
He pointed out, "There is no seriousness on the part of Baghdad and the region to resolve the outstanding problems regarding the oil file, especially those related to the oil and gas law, as the differences could have been avoided through a clause in the constitution that defines the relationship between the two sides regarding this wealth."

On the other hand, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Natural Resources Committee, Bassem Ngheimesh, confirmed to “Al-Ma’louma” that “the oil and gas law, as one of the important laws, requires political consensus between the various parties, especially between Baghdad and Erbil, in order to ensure the distribution of wealth and agreement on a number of paragraphs.” Within this law.”
He added, "The agreement to form the government by the political blocs, as well as the government program, included resolving the oil and gas law and putting it to a vote in Parliament, after its draft was prepared within six months of the government assuming its duties, while this period passed and the issue was not resolved."

On the other hand, Wafa Muhammad, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, told Al-Ma’louma, “The legislation of the oil and gas law within Parliament included some complex paragraphs, as there has been a draft of the law since 2009 that concerns the Kurdistan region and the federal government.”
He added, "The current draft included the presence of oil-producing governorates, such as Basra, Maysan, Kirkuk, and Nineveh, which intervened by writing the draft to demand petrodollar allocations and other entitlements, as adding these paragraphs led to the complexity of the law, and it is difficult to pass it during the current period." Ended 25
