    A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee, Thaer Mohaif, confirmed that the solution to the water crisis with the Turkish side depends on the nature of Ankara’s negotiating delegation, through which Iraq can be guaranteed to obtain its rights, at a time when Turkey is seeking to obtain what it wants from Iraq through the water paper.
    Makhif told Al-Maalouma, “The water crisis is at the forefront of the crises that Iraq has gone through, especially at the present time, as this crisis is not related to technical matters as much as it is related to the political, military, and economic aspects.”
    He added, "Turkey has some files that it is trying to ensure are achieved before proceeding to solve the water crisis or launching larger water quotas toward Iraq, even though the water quotas are clear and should reach the country."
    He stated that "the solution to the crisis with the Turkish side depends on the nature of the Iraqi delegation negotiating with the Turkish side, which can get what it wants in order to achieve the country's interest and ensure the security of the water share from the countries bordering Iraq." Ended 25 n
