    Date: 2012/12/28 09: 24: 16 Friday

    Baghdad
    (newsletter) ...Finance Committee member MP warned the
    Iraqi/coalition/Hassan Al-Bayati, of the implementation of the proposal
    to reduce the State-owned banks by merging, adding that the banking
    sector needs a new law to promote legislation.

    He said Al-Bayati
    (News News Agency): the proposal by an economist in Government banks
    merge with each other and reduce its hegemony is not a solution to the
    advancement of the banking sector, but new legislation supports the
    private banking sector.

    He continued: the fact that the current
    law does not help to support the development of State and private banks
    that still works with legacy systems "remnants" of the former regime,
    noting that evolving global banks operate according to laws and
    regulations and professional.

    The banking system in Iraq consists
    of forty-three banks as well as the Central Bank and distributed by the
    property (7) and (30) Al Ahli Bank including (7) in addition to Islamic
    banks (6) foreign banks./finished/8 n. p.
