    Today, Sunday, the Independent High Electoral Commission set the date for the final approval of the names of candidates for the provincial council elections.
    Assistant media spokesman for the Commission, Nibras Abu Souda, said in an interview with Al-Ma’louma, “The Board of Commissioners will approve the names of the candidates for the elections tomorrow, Monday,” noting that “if new information emerges that contradicts the nomination, the candidate will be excluded and his votes will be transferred to the list to which he belongs.” To it, and if it is singular, its sounds will be ignored.”
    She added, "The audit committees regarding the candidates for the provincial council elections are about to be completed, and tomorrow, Monday, the approval process will take place by the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission on the names of the candidates in Baghdad and the provinces." 
    She pointed out that "if new observations and information are discovered, the Commission will exclude the candidate and his votes will go to the bloc to which the candidate belongs, since the door for replacement has been closed since last Thursday. As for excluding an individual candidate, his votes will be ignored." 
    Abu Souda pointed out that "the final number of excluded people who do not meet the conditions for candidacy to run in the provincial council elections has exceeded 400 candidates so far."
    It is noteworthy that the Election Commission set the start of the electoral campaign for the governorate councils on the first of November 2023, and also counted the number of candidates excluded from the upcoming elections, as more than 300 candidates were excluded and were distributed as follows (197) accountability and justice, (102) criminal records, ( 1) Member of National Security, (1) Terrorism, (1) Integrity, (19) Not fulfilling the nomination requirements. Ended / 25 AD
