The Border Forces Command reported that 95 percent of the (Iraqi-Syrian) border was secured and controlled, revealing the completion of 130 kilometers of work on the concrete wall that was erected north of the Euphrates region.
The commander of the command affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdel Wahab Sukkar, told “Al-Sabah”: The command embarked during the current year, with the support of the ministry, on a package of projects to tighten the fortification of the (Iraqi-Syrian) border, confirming its success in securing and controlling 95 percent of it, especially the region north of the Euphrates. .
