The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has completed the amendment to the first law for the care of people with disabilities and special needs, announcing the cessation of promoting appointment change transactions as of the beginning of this month.
The head of the Ministry’s Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs, Thikra Abdel Rahim, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: The Ministry’s announcement of the completion of the draft amendment to the law was made after holding an expanded meeting with the Labor Committee and parliamentary civil society organizations, in the presence of the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Social Affairs, noting that The financial aspect and government project allocations were among the main topics discussed at the meeting.
She indicated that the law, which aims to grant formal and clear rights to people with disabilities and special needs, will soon be sent to Parliament for a vote on it, revealing that the Ministry has issued decisions during the past period to do justice to the aforementioned segment, the most important of which is allocating percentages of central appointments, and reducing study and travel fees, while addressing government institutions to facilitate... Their transaction procedures.
In the same context, Abdel Rahim announced that the Authority would stop promoting appointment change transactions, starting from the beginning of this month of November until the end of next December, except in necessary and extreme cases or the death of the appointee after obtaining the approval of the Chairman of the Authority, so that the concerned departments can work smoothly and easily and audit the files of the beneficiaries.
