{International: Al Furat News} The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that the relevant authorities in the country are preparing to receive and evacuate about 7,000 foreign citizens from Gaza who hold the nationalities of more than 60 countries, while Israel continues its military operation against Hamas in Gaza.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry added that the relevant authorities in the Egyptian state are making the necessary preparations to facilitate the reception and evacuation of foreign citizens from Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
Injured Palestinians and others holding foreign nationalities stranded at the Rafah crossing began crossing to the Egyptian side yesterday, Wednesday.
More foreign nationals are preparing to leave the Gaza Strip today, Thursday, while at least 320 foreign nationals and dozens of seriously injured residents of the Strip crossed into Egypt yesterday, Wednesday, according to an agreement between Israel, Egypt and Hamas.
The evacuees included passport holders from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Meanwhile, Israel continues its attack against Hamas militants in Gaza, bombing the Strip by land, sea and air.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said that at least 8,796 Palestinians, including 3,648 children, were killed in Israeli strikes since the attack launched by Hamas on Israel on October 7.
Doctors Without Borders announced that more than 20,000 wounded are still in the Gaza Strip, after the first batch of wounded and sick were transferred from the Palestinian Strip to Egypt on Wednesday via the Rafah crossing.
The humanitarian organization said in a statement that "more than 20,000 wounded are still in Gaza, with limited access to health care, due to the siege and ongoing bombing" by the Israeli army.
When Médecins Sans Frontières explained that its 22 international employees were able to leave Gaza, it demanded that a larger number of Gazans be allowed to leave.
