    The General Authority for Ground Water announced today, Thursday, the completion of drilling more than (150) wells during the month of October.
    The Director General of the General Authority, Maitham Ali Khudair, said in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, “The field teams working in the branches and projects of the General Authority for Groundwater, spread throughout the country’s governorates, completed drilling (152) wells during the month of last October, with the examination of (141).” ) Wells and installed (73) pumping crews, including wells for public and private utility and water scarcity.
    He added, "(14) wells were drilled in the capital, Baghdad, in addition to examining and developing (15) wells and installing one pumping crew. As for the holy governorate of Karbala, two wells were drilled, (6) wells were examined, and (4) pumping crews were installed."
    He continued: “As for Anbar Governorate, the field teams completed drilling (8) wells with depths reaching (350) meters and examining (12) wells, and Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate witnessed the drilling of (17) wells with depths that reached (250) meters with (7) inspections.” ) Wells and (6) pumping crews installed,” noting that “(8) wells were drilled in Nineveh Governorate, reaching depths of (250) meters, with (13) wells examined and (7) pumping crews installed, and Maysan Governorate witnessed the drilling of (3) Wells with depths reaching (75) meters, with (3) wells examined, (3) pumping crews installed, and one well maintained.”
    He explained, "(13) wells were drilled in Wasit Governorate to depths reaching (111) metres, with (5) wells being examined, (3) pumping and maintenance crews installing one well, and the completion of drilling (29) wells in Diyala Governorate to depths reaching (84)." meters, while (44) wells were examined and (22) pumping crews were installed,” pointing out that “(15) wells were drilled in Babil Governorate at depths reaching (18) meters, and (15) wells were examined, and that Dhi Qar Governorate witnessed the drilling of (28) meters.” A well with a depth of (12) meters, inspection of (7) wells, and installation of (21) pumping crews. Muthanna Governorate also witnessed the drilling of (7) wells with a depth of (350) metres, inspection of two wells, and maintenance of two wells.”
    He pointed out that "the teams working in the Kirkuk branch completed drilling (3) wells to depths reaching (132) metres, examining (5) wells and installing one pumping crew. As for Salah al-Din Governorate, it witnessed the drilling of (5) wells to depths reaching (120) meters." meters, inspecting (7) wells and installing (5) pumping crews.”
    He stated that “the percentage of completion achieved from the plan for drilling wells for public and private benefit for the year 2023 amounted to (81.70%) from the beginning of the year until the end of October, after (817) wells were drilled, in addition to drilling (182) wells for water scarcity, bringing the total number of wells drilled.” (999) wells.”
