Yesterday, Saturday, the activities of the Seventh Ambassadors Conference, held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, began in the capital, Baghdad, under the patronage of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, with the participation of 85 Iraqi ambassadors and heads of its diplomatic missions in countries around the world.

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, said in his speech during the conference: “Over the past years, Iraq has achieved important developments in the field of diplomatic relations with various countries, and we have succeeded in overcoming the decline in diplomatic, political and economic relations with many countries that occurred due to the rule of the dictatorship that implicated The country has countless wars and problems.
He pointed out that “the government’s program emphasizes attention to our relations with the countries of the world, which is what we worked on with great seriousness in the Presidency of the Republic, and the government also worked on it with precision and care in order to distance the country from the policies of the axes, and in order for common interests and respect for the sovereignty of countries to be the principle.” on which relations are based,” adding: “Iraqi diplomacy was able to start from our country’s democratic policy and to resume and activate relations with many countries in order to preserve the traditions of coexistence and cooperation between countries.”
Rashid pointed out that “Iraq’s foreign policy is based on the foundations of cooperation to overcome crises through constructive dialogue and by giving priority to common interests, and for Iraq to be effective in resolving crises and helping to create a regional environment that coexists in peace and cooperation.”
For his part, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani pointed out that “Iraq’s face, its speech and its position on basic issues, its economic interests and partnerships; It represents the backbone of foreign diplomatic work.”
He added during his speech at the conference that “the principles of Iraq’s foreign policy are stronger than all the changing circumstances and circumstantial tendencies, through our early engagement with the issues of the region,” stressing that “the Palestinian issue represents the most established and stable scene in our positions, because it is the permanent right to the occupied land and holy sites.
” .
He stressed that “the independence of our national decision is at the forefront of the principles we are talking about,” pointing out that “the state is responsible for making major decisions in accordance with the constitution and based on the highest interest of the Iraqis.”
He added, “Much of what we planned for during our first year in government has been achieved, and we are continuing to raise the level of achievement,” stressing, “We have made the issue of combating corruption at the core of our relations with others.”
He stressed, “It is not possible to build a balanced relationship if the other party protects money thieves, grants them other nationalities, and provides hideouts and outlets for their money. In order to relaunch it as if it were legitimate money,” he added: “We moved within the idea of (productive diplomacy); To be a basis in our relations with countries, in a way that guarantees our national interests.”
He concluded by saying: “Iraq is now playing its role in bridging relations and positive interaction between the East and the West, and between the North and the South. Because it is an economic and cultural link.”
In turn, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, said: “Iraq’s success in building good relations is the basis that falls within the tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the ambassadors deployed in countries around the world,” and he pointed out in a speech during the conference that “the ambassadors must be up to the level This responsibility reflects a positive image of Iraq.
Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, said in his speech during the activities of the Seventh Ambassadors’ Conference: “There are risks threatening the region with war,” stressing that “Iraq’s interest and keeping the country away from war are among the fundamentals of the government’s work.”
He stressed that “without openness to the Arab and regional environment, it is not possible to build a sound democracy,” and stressed “the necessity of working with influential countries to stop the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and the necessity of
lifting the siege on it.”
