    Today, Saturday (November 11, 2023), the Parliamentary Economics Committee considered that the success of the use of electric cars in Iraq during the next stage depends on the government’s success in implementing and establishing stations for charging wheels with electricity.[/size]
    [size=45]Committee member Ali Al-Maksousi said, “Citizens resorting to using electric cars is very important for the environment, especially since there is significant pollution due to the large number of cars that run on various petroleum derivatives,” stressing that “this matter contributes to protecting the environment from the side effects of fuel.” “.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Maksusi added, “There is one factor that may affect the non-use of electric cars in Iraq during the next stage, which is the lack of continuous availability of electric power in Iraq, and this step also requires taking governmental steps, the first of which is installing charging stations for these wheels in different cities. The matter does not fall on the citizen, but primarily on the government.”[/size]
    [size=45]Last Thursday, she translated a report from the Chinese Shanhua News Agency, which confirmed an increase in Iraqi demand for Chinese electric cars.[/size]
    [size=45]For its part, the Ministry of Electricity confirmed, through the Ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, in a statement to the official agency, that “purchasing cars that operate electrically must have special charging stations in front of them.”[/size]
    [size=45]Moussa added, “As far as the entity responsible for importing this type of car is concerned, the doors of the Ministry of Electricity are open for opinions and coordination for shipping them according to the ministry’s jurisdiction.”[/size]

    [size=45]The Iraqi government has granted, in multiple decisions, privileges for the import of hybrid cars, including exemption from fees, taxes, and traffic license plate fees. Hybrid cars are those that operate on fuel as well as electricity.[/size]
    [size=45]The General Company for Automobile Trading has previously confirmed that hybrid vehicles reduce pollution and fuel use by 40%.[/size]
