    Economy News - Baghdad
Today, Sunday, Baghdad Governorate set the date for submitting sewage projects on the outskirts of the capital to the Ministerial Council for the Economy. While it specified the areas covered by the projects and the time periods for completion, it announced that two areas would be included in the project plan.
The director of Baghdad Governorate’s sewers, Firas Abdullah Ibrahim, told an official agency, “Sewage projects for the outskirts of Baghdad Governorate, represented by the areas of Al-Nahrawan, Saba’ Al-Bour, Al-Wahda district, Abu Ghraib, and Al-Rashidiya, are still under preparation in the contracts department in the governorate, and will be submitted to the Ministerial Council for the Economy during the current week.” ".
Ibrahim explained, “The amounts of these projects are outside the governor’s powers, so they will be submitted to the Ministerial Council for the Economy, and upon approval, they will be returned to the governorate to contract with companies to implement the projects,” stressing that “the financial allocation is available from the Ministry of Finance and has been approved by the Ministry of Planning.” There is no problem."
He added, "The companies that will implement the sewage projects will be local, highly efficient, and specialized in sewage work," noting that "each project takes only 4 years, while the Rashidiya area sewage project takes 3 years, because it is a small area, and almost every stage takes a year."
He pointed out that "the sewage projects will be integrated and include treatment and sewage plants," noting that "two areas will be included in the sewage projects for the year 2024, which is the Al-Nasr and Al-Salam area within the Abu Ghraib district and another area in the Mahmoudiyah district."
