    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Advisor to the Prime Minister, Hussein Allawi, revealed the advantages of Iraq’s membership in the Executive Council of the United Nations (UNESCO).
    An advisor to the Prime Minister, Hussein Allawi, said that Iraq’s election as a member of the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is an Iraqi diplomatic achievement and a distinguished presence for a country whose civilization has been concentrated for 7,000 years, as well as a national achievement among the achievements of the government curriculum promised by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia. Al-Sudani seeks to develop Iraq’s diplomatic presence in the field of knowledge, science, culture, climate change and freedom of expression, and to invest the world’s oldest in the field of artificial intelligence, develop the education sector, water management, confront its scarcity and combat extremism.
    He explained that Iraq's advanced presence in UNESCO now means great openness in diplomacy and the achievement of productive goals, which the Iraqi government pursued a year after its formation, noting the activation of the role of the Ministry of Education after Iraq officially obtained membership in the Executive Council of UNESCO by winning the decisive elections during the activities of the UNESCO International Conference. Its forty-second session in Paris, which came after 38 years of waiting.
    He went on to say: There will be a greater role for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the process of modernizing science and keeping pace with the progress made in the organization’s work to build the capabilities of Iraqi universities and enhance scientific research in the country.
    Regarding the advantages of electing Iraq as a member of the Executive Council of UNESCO, Allawi stated that the Executive Council of UNESCO consists of 58 members, and the most important advantages of electing Iraq as a member of the Executive Council will be reflected in the implementation of major cultural projects, support for vocational training, and programs for qualifying and training workers in the sectors of culture, cultural history, journalism, media, blogging, and technology. In addition to strengthening the building of bridges of relations between Iraq and the world, and a reflection on the future of Iraqi youth, who constitute more than 60 percent of society and who need to build bridges with others through the Iraqi government and its ministries and between society and similar societies.
