Independent MP, Bassem Khashan, confirmed today, Sunday, that Muhammad al-Halbousi’s membership in the Iraqi Parliament has ended since the “Jackoj” attack on the Federal Supreme Court, and while he expected nominations for the position of Speaker of Parliament to be opened during the next session, he pointed out that the two parliamentary sessions that were held recently “were not "Two constitutional."

Khashan said in an interview with the Twenty program broadcast by Al-Sumaria TV, that “Parliament was informed of the termination of Al-Halbousi’s membership from the moment the ruling was issued, and specifically since the Jakoush strike,” describing this decision as “exceptional and distinctive, because of the constitutional and ethical principles it contains that must be taught in law schools and colleges.” Revealing at the same time that “the decision came in contradiction to the political will that supported Al-Halbousi’s survival for fear that bad results would result that would harm the country.”

He added, "The decision reveals Al-Halbousi's shame, and in order to get rid of the shame of what he earned in the council, he went to evade and use the excuse that the decision was political," pointing out that "the evidence of Al-Halbousi's fraud was clear," adding, "The court ended Al-Halbousi's political future because of his crimes."

He continued, “Al-Halbousi was tyrannical, and Laith Al-Dulaimi was under pressure, so he submitted the blank paper with resignation, like other people in progress,” explaining that “Al-Dulaimi can run for the upcoming elections, but Al-Dulaimi cannot because the Federal Court found against him the crime of forgery, which is one of the crimes against honor.” Noting that, “Today, Laith Al-Dulaimi filed a lawsuit against Al-Halbousi before the Integrity Commission.”

Khashan pointed out, “If Al-Halbousi continues to use the title of president, he will be charged with impersonating the position,” adding in his speech: “The next step is to imprison Al-Halbousi.” He noted

that “the Federal Court’s ruling is final and final and cannot be changed, nor can it be undone.” Because it was issued based on facts and observations with the naked eye,” stressing “the possibility of every citizen to sue Al-Halbousi.”

Regarding Al-Halbousi’s dealings with an Israeli company, Khashan said, “I submitted a request to the Parties Affairs Department to dissolve a party that applied because its president committed violations, including contracting with a Zionist lobby company,” indicating “Taqadum does not have the authority to contract with a lobby company, even if it is not Zionist,” adding, “Part of Al-Halbousi’s donations to the lobby went to Israel,” noting that “the company contracted by the outgoing Speaker of Parliament had a role in the normalization agreements.” Al-Halbousi continued

. He pays monthly sums of money to the Israeli lobby to improve his image.”

Khashan expected that “nominations for the presidency of the House of Representatives will be opened during the next session,” noting that “the two extraordinary sessions that Parliament recently held are unconstitutional.”
