Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari called yesterday, Wednesday, for continuing to educate school and university students about the dangers of drugs and extortion.
A statement from the ministry stated, “Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, chaired a conference at the ministry’s headquarters, which included the community police and the Directorate of Tribal Affairs, to enhance community security and draw up advanced plans in accordance with a clear and scientific methodology for joint work and cooperation between them.”
Al-Shammari stressed, according to the statement, “several recommendations related to the work of community policing and tribal affairs, including educating and raising awareness of the tribes about the danger of the drug scourge and providing support and assigning authentic sheikhs who support the state and the law.”
Al-Shammari directed “to continue educating school and university students by the community police in Baghdad and the governorates about the dangers of drugs, extortion, and other crimes alien to society, as well as solving societal problems in accordance with legal frameworks.”
