    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Tuesday (November 28, 2023), the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee commented on the amount of oil sold by Iraq last month, while indicating that Iraq is limited to a quantity according to OPEC.
Committee member Ali Al-Lami said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “the amount of oil that Iraq sold last month is within the normal and usual quantities, especially since Iraq is committed to selling limited quantities in accordance with the decisions of OPEC, and it cannot exceed those quantities.” Despite its high production capacity.
Al-Lami stated, “Iraq does not export all the quantities it produces, as it is limited to a quantity according to OPEC, and the surplus production is exploited locally and part of it is stored as needed. Iraq has a production capacity that can be sold through selling very large quantities, but it is committed to the decisions of OPEC.” In order to control oil prices in the global market and prevent their collapse.”
Yesterday, Monday (November 27, 2023), the Ministry of Oil announced the total oil exports and revenues achieved for the month of last October, according to the final statistics issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).
The Ministry of Oil said, in a statement, that the amount of crude oil exports amounted to 109.55 million barrels, with revenues amounting to 9.59 billion dollars.
The ministry added that the total quantities of crude oil exported last October from the oil fields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 108.05 million barrels, while the quantities exported from Qayyarah were 1.03 million barrels, while exports to Jordan were 464.73 thousand barrels.
The Ministry of Oil revealed that the average price of one barrel reached $87.58, and that the exported quantities were loaded by 38 international companies of several nationalities, from the ports of Basra, Khor Al-Zubair, mono-buoys, and the modern Kirkuk warehouse, by tanker trucks, and from the Qayyarah field.
