Director of the Ministry’s Media Office, Maytham Al-Safi, said in a statement to “Al-Sabah”: The mechanism for operating the Grand Al-Faw Port will adopt advanced and smart technological systems similar to those applied in international ports, which will facilitate dealings with commercial stakeholders and international companies and shorten time away from paper procedures and administrative routine, as well as On facilitating customs procedures, stressing that all projects implemented in it will use clean energy to reduce the problem of pollution.
The large port of Al-Faw, which has many components and characteristics, is considered an effective commercial and economic link that contributes to the rapid arrival of goods to Europe via Turkey through the development route, both rail and land, which contributes to the entry of goods within only five days, in addition to increasing the capacity of the Iraqi ports and the country’s need for That in the future.
Al-Safi noted that the Ministry is interested in strategic projects, especially after the Council of Ministers’ decision to establish a fixed platform for processing imported gas in Al-Faw Port, which is considered one of the important strategic projects for the country, as it will contribute to diversifying the sources of gas that operate its power stations
In the same context, he revealed that his ministry participated with several government agencies and specialized professors to form a committee that would prepare an integrated vision for establishing a gas processing platform so that the project, which he considered vital, could proceed in the coming months.
