the head of the Military Industrialization Authority, Mustafa Ati, revealed the production of armored vehicles and a new model of combat vehicles and binoculars as part of next year’s plan, expecting that the future will witness the production of an Iraqi model of reconnaissance drones.
Ati said, in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The Authority began producing light ammunition for Western and Eastern weapons and pistols, which were produced in the largest factories and funded by the government in all its details, including infrastructure, production, inspection and localization of an entire industry to be a true supporter of the security forces,” adding that “the year The next will witness the production of mortars, armored vehicles, binoculars, and thermal cameras, and the production of reconnaissance drones, with the addition of a new model and type of combat armored vehicles, and projects related to electronic devices, communications, and civilian products, as well as the revival of artillery and heavy artillery, with the opening of two factories for ammunition and medium weapons, and an expansion of light ammunition. In partnership with the private sector due to the large demand from the security forces.”
Regarding investments, Ati said, “The door to participation with the private sector was opened in accordance with the Companies Law, after the demand for actual participation in military and civilian production, after the success of the localization of these factories,” noting that “the authority aims to open wide areas for the private sector to localize the industry.” real without relying on the state budget.”
Regarding drones, Ati pointed out that “their use is important in all countries of the world and is not limited to military ones, as they are used to monitor electricity and communications lines, oil installations, agriculture, spraying pesticides, and monitoring borders,” stressing that the Authority is in the process of producing a new type of these drones, relying on transporting drones. Technology from companies specialized in this field to localize the industry, especially since it is capable of research and development.”
Ati continued by saying, "Many of the countries neighboring Iraq have sought to localize military industries of various types, except for large ones that do not need to be produced, which provides security, strength, and sovereignty in this field."
