    The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, said that Iraq’s decision on issues in the region is independent and does not belong to any country, stressing that Iraq is now playing the role of mediator to resolve problems and disputes between neighboring countries.
    Rashid stated in an interview with Sky News Arabia that “after security was restored, the Iraqi government has an intensive program to meet the needs of the population,” and stressed “the importance of maintaining security in Iraq and improving its infrastructure,” indicating that “the crisis in Iraq has ended, but Improving services will take several years.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The water challenge in Iraq is caused by its water sources that come from abroad, and there is coordination with Iran and Turkey regarding the water file.” He continued: “Our relations are good with neighboring countries and the region,” pointing out that “the security situation in Baghdad is stable, but the media is trying to distorting this image.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “We have solved all our problems with neighboring countries, and we play the role of mediator in the region,” and stated that “Iraq lost a third of the country due to terrorist acts,” noting that “Iraq’s decision is independent on issues in the region and we do not follow any other country.”[/size]
    [size=45]Rashid called for “the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full rights,” denouncing the Zionist aggression.[/size]
    [size=45]In addition, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received, yesterday, Monday, at Baghdad Palace, the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, and his accompanying delegation.[/size]
    [size=45]A presidential statement stated, “At the beginning of the meeting, Major General Bagheri conveyed the greetings of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Mr. Ali Khamenei, and the Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, to the President of the Republic and their wishes for the Iraqi people for continued security, safety, and prosperity, while the President of the Republic conveyed to the Chief of the General Staff his greetings to the Supreme Leader and his wishes for his continued success.” Good health to the President and the Iranian leadership, good luck and success.”[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement, the President of the Republic stressed “the importance of developing relations between the two countries in the security, political and economic aspects, enhancing training and technical cooperation and joint work to ensure border security and combating the drug phenomenon, and benefiting from the experiences of the two countries in fighting terrorism.”[/size]
    [size=45]He praised “the agreement between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran for border security,” praising “Iran’s support and support for Iraq in its war against terrorist gangs.”[/size]
    [size=45]The President of the Republic referred to “Iraq’s firm position in support of the right of the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights,” stressing “the necessity of condemning the aggression against the Palestinians and making international efforts to stop the war on Gaza.”[/size]
