Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq has become a key to solutions, after it has come a long way in the democratic path.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by Mawazine News, that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the Executive Director of the International Crisis Group, Comfort Aero, and her accompanying delegation, and the meeting witnessed discussion of the most important issues and files taking place in the regional and international arena. Addressing Iraq's role in the region and its encouragement of dialogue, as well as its role in calming the issue of aggression against Gaza.
The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, that "Iraq has become a key to solutions, after it has come a long way in the democratic path, calling on international organizations to truly recognize the progress achieved in Iraq, at different levels."
Al-Sudani stated, "The importance of the upcoming provincial council elections, and the constitutional entitlement they represent and the strengthening of decentralization in Iraq, and that the government today enjoys the support of a broad coalition of Iraqi national political forces that include all components of the Iraqi people."
Regarding the developments of events in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Prime Minister indicated that “the international community and the great powers did not fulfill their responsibility properly in stopping the aggression against Gaza,” stressing that “what is happening today is an extension of long years of racist policies pursued by the occupying entity, which "It continues to violate international law and United Nations resolutions."
