    Economy News - Baghdad
Today, Thursday, the Salah al-Din Municipalities Directorate revealed a government intention to refer cleaning work to specialized private sector companies, and while it confirmed that lighting projects are close to completion, it announced a new campaign to furnish roads.
The director general of the directorate, Muhammad Hassan Al-Hadid, said, “Within the capabilities available to the governorate’s municipalities, there is a shortage in the area of cleaning,” pointing out that “the directives of the federal government and the Ministry of Finance are currently focused on referring cleaning to the private sector, and we are in the process of preparing lists for referring the cleaning service to companies.” "Competent."
Regarding the rest of the projects, Al-Hadid said: “We are in the process of projects in all municipalities of the governorate to furnish and plan roads, and we have projects to establish parks in most municipalities, and we have lighting projects that are completed or close to completion, except for the campaign during this month to furnish roads, which will continue until the end of the year.” The campaign will start within the next two days.”
He continued, "There are no lagging projects with regard to municipal projects, except for some old projects that are on the old governorate's plans, and due to the lack of funding, there is lagging in them. As for the investment projects and operational budget projects for municipalities, they are all continuing in addition to food security projects."
