The political advisor to the Prime Minister, Fadi Al-Shammari, confirmed on Saturday that the government is determined to take measures to protect the security and interests of Iraq.
Al-Shammari said in a tweet, “Iraqis have paid priceless prices as a result of the challenges of terrorism at times and the reckless policies and behaviors of some at other times, which have plunged the country into dark tunnels that have caused us to lose our best youth, struck the hearts of our mothers, and suffered huge economic and developmental losses, and we must not allow it to return under any name under any pretext.” Or justification.
He added, "Targeting diplomatic missions is a condemnable terrorist act that crosses red lines and deviates from the national consensus, the vision of the government and its supporting national forces," stressing that "the government is determined to take measures to protect the security and interests of Iraq and its people."
