Al-Sudani: Today we are fighting the battle of reconstruction, construction, and fighting corruption

Yesterday, Sunday, the Iraqis commemorated the sixth anniversary of “Victory Day” over the terrorist “ISIS” gangs, and the declaration of the liberation of the homeland’s lands on December 10, 2017, after fighting great battles in our liberated cities and offering thousands of martyrs and wounded as offerings on the road. Liberating the homeland and ending the alleged “state of myth” that the enemies bet on. The Iraqis also recalled the blessed fatwa of “sufficient jihad” announced by the supreme religious authority, Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, which had an effective and influential role in launching the liberation operations.
The President of the Republic, Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid, said in a blog post on the (X) website: “On the Day of Victory over the terrorist ISIS, we remember with reverence the great sacrifices made by our forces in all their formations, and the important role of the religious authority, and supporting the people of all walks of life to defend the homeland and preserve its dignity.” .
Rashid added, "National solidarity to establish security and continue construction is a duty in order to fulfill the pure blood that was shed for the country."
For his part, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani said: “We remember this historic victory, in which the Iraqis were able to defeat ISIS and its terrorism, on behalf of the world and all of humanity, and we recall with reverence and greatness the titles of sacrifice of our heroic martyrs, and with them the leaders of victory, whom we would not have seen freedom and victory.” And safe living can only be achieved through their great sacrifices.”
He added, "We express our pride and pride in the heroic performance of our heroic armed forces in all their forms, which set out toward victories armed with the great stance of the rational supreme authority, and the blessed fatwa of the Sufficient Jihad of His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (may his life be long), which mobilized all the nation's energies against terrorism."
The Prime Minister pointed out that "Iraqis today are fighting the battle of reconstruction and construction, fighting corruption, and the challenge of providing services, based on the stability achieved thanks to those sacrifices, which we cannot allow anyone to neglect, under any circumstances."
In turn, the son of the Supreme Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Reza al-Sistani, said in a speech on the occasion of Victory Day: “The people of victory are those who sacrificed themselves, especially those who were martyred and were permanently disabled. They are the people of pride, and glory be to them,” indicating that “the responsibility of others is a great responsibility.” “In preserving this victory and not distorting it, which was achieved through much blood.”
He added, "This victory is a bright point in the history of the honorable supreme religious authority and the country, as for the first time it issued a fatwa in support of the sufficient defense and victory was achieved in the contemporary history of Iraq."
He continued, "But the greatest legal and national responsibility remains to preserve this great achievement, great victory, and sacred title, as the honorable authority indicated in his victory sermon."
Meanwhile, the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, and the legal guardian of the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, received a group of the sons of the martyrs who fulfilled the fatwa (Sufficient Defense), coinciding with (Victory Day), the anniversary of the victory over terrorist gangs and the cleansing of the land of Iraq.
Meanwhile, the media office of the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, said in a statement, “Al-Mandalawi congratulated the Iraqi people and the heroes in all types of security forces, on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the Day of the Great Victory over Terrorism, and the cleansing of the country of its filth, evil, and bloody, obscurantist ideology.”
Al-Mandalawi stressed, according to the statement, that “the fatwa of sufficient jihad of the supreme religious authority, the national cohesion between the people and their various types of security forces, and the blood of the martyrs that was shed in order to defend the land and the sanctities, and on the path of pride, dignity and freedom, created the brightest picture of Iraqi victory over the forces of terrorism and backwardness.” This image will remain immortal throughout history and engraved in the minds and consciences of generations.”
