    The Ministry of Commerce announced that it had concluded new contracts with companies specialized in automating the data of citizens of the Rusafa side and the rest of the governorates, while the rate of updating data on the Karkh side reached 90%.
    The Director General of the Ministry's Planning and Follow-up Department, Talib Hassan Nimah, said that his ministry continues to update the data of approximately five percent of the families at the headquarters of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, whose data had not previously been updated in Karkh after the closure of its centers at the Baghdad International Fair, indicating their continued arrival to the headquarters.     He added that their modernization rates have so far reached 90 percent, which reflects citizens’ interest in the modernization process, and indicates the importance of the ration card items and their impact on families’ livelihoods, noting that the recent period has witnessed a decrease in their demand, which indicates the absorption of large numbers within the modernization process.
    Nimah stated that his ministry has currently concluded new contracts with companies specialized in systems and information technology to implement the automation project in cooperation with the ministerial information technology team to update the electronic card data, and work is underway to resolve the file on the Rusafa side, whose numbers reach four million and 800 thousand citizens, and the remaining governorates that have not begun the updating process. Within two months after completing the legal, logistical and technical procedures.
    He stated that updating procedures for the citizen will be facilitated by the company based on the information of the modern unified card, and the thumb and eye print, with the aim of accurate information, reducing routine and reviews, simplifying procedures, and blocking cases of repetition, death and travel, as well as the movement of variables such as transfer, addition and division, stressing that the card will be updated.     The Director General of the Ministry's Planning and Follow-up Department stated that dozens of ration centers and branches have been identified on the Rusafa side, expressing his hope that the project, which will be implemented soon in several stages, will include all families covered by the ration card system in the country's governorates.
