On Saturday, the Communications and Media Commission announced the results of its monitoring of media institutions on the first day of “electoral silence.” Which was launched at dawn yesterday, Friday, confirming a decrease in recorded violations by 20% compared to the 2021 elections, and all of them have been addressed.

According to the Central Media Operations Room, which was announced by the head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, earlier last week, the monitoring operations began at six o’clock in the morning on Friday and included 124 satellite channels interested in Iraqi affairs.

According to the Chamber’s reports above, 17 satellite channels were recorded violating the media silence day, all of which were dealt with at a correction rate of (5.4 minutes), except for two channels whose response rate was later than the rest of the 15 channels.

All the violations that were monitored and addressed in the early hours of Friday morning were material that had been rebroadcast from the channel’s programming map the previous day, with four violations within the news feed, two violations within the television programs, and 11 violations that were within the rebroadcast news bulletins, according to the report. Statement.

The Operations Room indicated that the violations monitored during the electoral silence this year were 20% less than what was recorded in 2021, with 91% of the violations being addressed in a timely manner. As for the current year, all violations were addressed by 100%.
