Independent politician Ghaleb Al-Shabandar warned of the crises that the American withdrawal from Iraq would create, indicating that Iraq would be divided immediately after the American withdrawal was announced.
Al-Shabandar said in an interview with our colleague Sahar Abbas Jameel on the program “The Decision for You,” affiliated with Mawazine News, that “the American forces, upon their withdrawal from Iraq, will be stationed in Kurdistan at the request of the Kurds, as well as at the request of the Sunnis, in western Iraq within the Ain al-Assad base.”
He added, "The results of the withdrawal will be disastrous for southern and central Iraq after America declares an economic war similar to that of Syria, Iran and Lebanon, and establishes an economic blockade that will lead to killing in the street due to famine."
He pointed out that "security will be lost in the central and southern governorates as a result of the inability of the Iraqi forces to deter external aggression or interventions, as well as the American side's refusal to hand over Iraq the necessary equipment and weapons."
