    Baghdad today - Baghdad
    Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, decided today, Tuesday (January 16, 2024), to form an investigative committee to investigate the Iranian missile attack that targeted Erbil Governorate in the Kurdistan Region  , while a source indicated that the committee will arrive in Erbil within the next few hours.
    A document signed by the Personal Secretary of the Commander-in-Chief, a copy of which was obtained by “Baghdad Today”, indicated that “in implementation of the directive of the Prime Minister - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, it was decided to form an investigative committee headed by and with membership of the persons whose qualities are listed below  :
    A- Mr. National Security Advisor / Chairman .
    Mr. Minister of the Interior of the Kurdistan Region / Member .
    C, Deputy Head of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service / Member .
    D - Major General (Saad Naeem), representative of the Joint Operations Command/member  .
    E - Major General Majid Abdel Hussein (representative from the Ministry of Defence/member)  .
    The document stated, “The committee’s mission is to investigate the incident of the Iranian missile bombing attack that targeted Erbil Governorate in the Kurdistan region on the night of (January 15-16, 2024), where the committee begins its work immediately and presents its recommendations within (48) hours, inevitably before the eyes of Mr. Prime Minister - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces .
    Meanwhile, an informed source revealed to Baghdad Today Agency that “a government committee headed by National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji will arrive in Erbil in the coming hours to investigate the causes of the attack.”
    Today, Tuesday (January 16, 2024), the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced its responsibility for the strikes that targeted Erbil, while indicating in a statement that they came “in response to the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic, the most recent of which was the killing of a number of Guard leaders by Zionist fire that was targeted.” A main spy headquarters for the Mossad in the Kurdistan region of Iraq was destroyed by ballistic missiles. ”
    Today, Tuesday (January 16, 2024), the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced its responsibility for the strikes that targeted Erbil, while indicating in a statement that they came “in response to the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic, the most recent of which was the killing of a number of Guard leaders by Zionist fire that was targeted.” A main spy headquarters for the Mossad in the Kurdistan region of Iraq was destroyed by ballistic missiles. ”
    The statement added, "This was the main Zionist center responsible for developing and launching espionage operations and planning terrorist activities in the region, especially against Iran ."
    Today, Tuesday, the Kurdistan Region Security Council considered the missile bombardment launched by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which targeted city areas in the city of Erbil, a “flagrant violation of the sovereignty” of the region and all of Iraq .
    Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Tuesday (January 16, 2024), the formation of an investigation committee headed by the National Security Advisor to investigate the Iranian attack on Erbil and collect information to support the government’s position internationally and provide accurate evidence and information .
