[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, confirmed that approving the instructions for employing inmates will contribute to making these products a source of income for them, and the ministry is ready to support them.
The Ministry said in a statement: “The Minister of Justice visited the pavilions of the Iraqi Correctional Service and the Juvenile Correctional Department, which specialize in inmates’ handicrafts, which are held at the Baghdad International Fair.”
The Minister explained that the purpose of these participations is to demonstrate the ability and energies of inmates and the extent of benefiting from rehabilitation programs in bringing about change at the level of awareness and behavior among inmates in correctional departments.
He pointed out that approving the inmates' employment instructions that were referred to the State Council will contribute to establishing the legal framework for converting inmates' work into investment projects that generate income for them and reduce the burdens on their families.
During his tour of some pavilions displaying national products, the Minister stressed the support of national production, stressing the possibility of investing in the skills of inmates working in prison workshops and laboratories to equip state institutions with furniture, offices, trips, electrical appliances, as well as models, drawings, sculptures, illustrations, clothing, etc./End 7[/rtl]
