    Economy News - Baghdad

[rtl]Today, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee strongly condemned the actions of the US Treasury that it took against Representative Hussein Moanis, by placing him on the list of economic sanctions, while it considered this measure a “scandalous transgression.”[/rtl]

[rtl]The committee stated, in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, that it "strongly condemns the actions of the US Treasury that it took against Representative Hussein Mu'nis, by placing him on the economic sanctions list," indicating that "this measure is a blatant and arbitrary transgression that is not justified by any logical justification."[/rtl]

[rtl]She added, "Including the name of Representative Hussein Mu'nis on the economic sanctions list is a flagrant violation of transparency and a lack of clarity in the policies taken by the American government towards patriotic Iraqi figures."[/rtl]

[rtl]The statement indicated, "Representative Hussein Mu'nis is considered a respected national figure, as he has played and continues to play a major role in defending the rights of Iraqi citizens, and represents the prominent face in the challenges of the budget file, by carefully monitoring the mechanisms used in disbursing funds."[/rtl]

[rtl]The Parliamentary Finance Department called on the US Treasury to “provide conclusive evidence and honest proof that sheds light on the reasons that led to the decision to include the name of Representative Hussein Mu’nis on the sanctions list, and to understand the justifications behind this unjust measure.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Earlier yesterday, Monday, the US Treasury Department announced the imposition of economic sanctions on the “Fly Baghdad” airline company, and Member of Parliament Hussein Mu’nis.[/rtl]
