    Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Interior announced the start of registering citizens’ personal weapons.
    A statement from the Interior Ministry received by the Maalouma Agency stated, “In line with the government program announced by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and with the aim of strengthening societal peace, the Ministry of Interior announced, through a conference it organized in the presence of a number of personalities, competent authorities, and a group of leaders and officers, the commencement of registration.” Citizens' personal weapons.
    The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, stressed in his speech that “the government’s interest in the security and stability of the citizen comes at the forefront of concerns, and therefore the national policy for regulating weapons was approved and restricted to the state, from which the Permanent Committee for Arms Regulation in the Ministry of Interior emerged.”
    He pointed out, "The electronic form for registering citizens' weapons will be launched through the Ur Portal website in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and it will be in three stages, and the establishment of 697 weapons registration offices will be established in local police stations in all governorates, cities, villages, and districts of Iraq, except for the Kurdistan region."
    The statement added, "The conference witnessed a group of interventions to discuss the importance of this project. The attendees also praised the great efforts made by the Ministry of Interior in the issue of restricting weapons to the state and combating crime in its various forms." Ended/25
