    The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, confirmed on Wednesday that the future of energy is of great concern to Iraq and the countries of the world.
    The media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement, seen by Al-Eqtisad News, that “under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, a discussion panel was held on (Energy Security and Future in Iraq), organized by the Department of Planning and Development, in cooperation with the Presidency of the Republic, in coordination with the Ministries of Oil and Electricity.” .
    In his speech, the President of the Republic stressed that "the future of energy occupies a fundamental aspect of the interests of countries, and research institutions and study centers are working on it because of its importance in the present and future for oil-producing countries."
    He added, "The world's efforts today are directed towards preserving the cleanliness of the environment and life, and these efforts seek to develop the capabilities of working with renewable energy and reduce the use of fossil fuels to the maximum possible extent."
    He added, "Iraq is committed to many international conventions concerned with the environment and its cleanliness," stressing "the keenness to strengthen efforts to preserve the environment, as well as diversifying sources of income and developing and developing work in various fields, which leads to reducing rentier dependence on oil mainly in the financial management of Iraq." ".
    He continued, "The mission of researchers and experts is to mature the plans and objectives of state institutions and develop their work to achieve the goals of the government program that seeks to achieve progress in these areas."
    For his part, Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, delivered a speech in which he referred to “the challenges the country faces from the impact of climate change,” stressing that “the Ministry of Oil doubled production to (4.7) million barrels during the past ten years, making Iraq occupy a fifth of The global increase in production achieved during that period.
    The Minister of Oil added, “The final statement of the Conference of the Parties referred to the adoption of transitional fuels as one of the pillars of transformation, which was already present and has been present for years in our national and ministerial vision for the gas industry,” indicating that “the Iraqi energy file is on the cusp of an important stage in which we need to establish an integrated strategy.” To transform with energy and reduce emissions, so that the transformation becomes a source of revitalization of the Iraqi economy and the well-being of the country.”
    In turn, the Minister of Electricity noted, in his speech, that “Iraq is considered one of the basic pillars of energy,” noting that “the state’s possession of energy sources, especially electricity, has its effects reflected in the rapid rotation of the wheel of the national economy, in addition to the economic and political advantages that support stability.”
    He explained, "The Ministry of Electricity worked through its plans to improve the level of electricity service as it is one of the most important components of energy security in Iraq and one of the pillars of national security in terms of ensuring operational requirements, adequacy, flexibility, reliability, and stability of the electrical system in Iraq."
    Kamel Al-Dulaimi, Head of the Presidency of the Republic, pointed out that “this workshop is being held under exceptional global circumstances and accelerating security events taking place in the region, and there is no doubt that they will cast a shadow on the global economy in general, and on the energy file and its future in particular.”
    The Chief of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic continued, “The future of energy in our country is in dire need of thoughtful scientific and practical steps, commensurate with the events taking place in the world in general and in our region and our country in particular, and it also needs multiple dialogues tinged with seriousness, credibility, responsibility and coordination.” “Together with all state institutions, with all their presidencies, to advance a file that is considered the most vital file affecting the economy, politics, and the life of the citizen.”
    He pointed out that "the energy file has the greatest priority over the rest of the files, because of its great political and economic importance to the present of the country and the future of its generations, so that Iraq can take its proper place and pivotal role in the region," pointing out that "the President of the Republic directed the holding of seminars and workshops to develop the work of... State institutions and departments.
