    Shafaq News/ On Sunday, the Iraqi Ministry of Finance denied political statements indicating the lack of “financial liquidity,” stressing its commitment to securing salary financing on an ongoing basis.

    The Ministry said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “In response to what some TV channels reported, it (the Ministry of Finance) expresses its surprise at the claims of some political and media figures regarding the lack of sufficient cash flow to secure the salaries of state employees.”
    In this regard, the Ministry stressed that “the financial plans that it prepared within the government program for public spending included taking several procedures and measures consistent with what was stated in the Federal Financial Management Law No. (6) of 2019, as amended, the Federal General Budget Law No. (13) of 2023, and the application of the unified treasury system.” By completing the budget schedules for the fiscal years 2024 and 2025 and submitting them to the Council of Ministers for approval, thus securing the salaries of employees, the social protection network, and the salaries of retirees without delay or delay through its retained cash balances for the previous year and its oil and non-oil revenues.
    She indicated that the Ministry was committed to securing salary funding on an ongoing basis and directing the resumption of official working hours on Friday and Saturday for the purpose of completing the distribution of salaries of state employees without delay. 
    The Ministry also explained that the financial and economic reform plan pursued by the government led to a noticeable increase in economic growth, and achieved an important source of state resources through the increase in development projects and the restart of a number of suspended factories, especially food and construction factories, as the production rate increased in several projects. Within the framework of the development vision of the Iraqi economy, diversifying it, reducing dependence on oil revenues as the sole source of the budget, and maximizing non-oil revenues.
    She added that no statement was issued by the Ministry of Finance in this regard, especially since the government reforms relied on expanding the participation of the private sector in securing greater job opportunities.
    She stressed the need to adhere to what is issued by it, as it is the only body that manages financial affairs in Iraq, explaining that any statements of this kind create unnecessary confusion and tension.
    The Ministry called for adopting news and information through its official website and pages on social networking sites without getting confused with information that does not exist, according to the statement.
