Maysan Oil Company announced today, Wednesday, in cooperation with its Chinese counterpart, PetroGina, the drilling of six new wells in the Halfaya oil field, while reclaiming eight others.
The company's director, Hussein Kazem Laibi, said, "The Chinese companies (Dajin), (Bohai), and (Anton Oil), contracting with the Chinese company (PetroGina), have completed the drilling operations of six wells according to horizontal, vertical, and directed methods, and they are distributed between the Hartha, Mishrif, Saadi, and Al-Khasib reservoirs." While reclamation operations were carried out for eight other old wells that were activated and their production rates increased.”
He added that the reclamation work included landing completion crews, replacing submersible pumps, and carrying out cleaning operations for the bottom of the wells, in addition to acid recovery and implementing the hydraulic fracturing process for the productive layers...
