    US oil imports increased by 5% during the first month of 2024, with 4 Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia and Iraq, acquiring a share of approximately 7.5% of the total imported by the largest oil consuming country in the world.
    [rtl]United States imports of crude oil amounted to approximately 206.8 million barrels (6.67 million barrels per day) during the month of January 2024, compared to 196.8 million barrels (6.35 million barrels per day) during December 2023, according to recent data published by the Energy Research Unit.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]While the volume of US oil imports from 4 Arab countries - Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and Libya - reached approximately 15.4 million barrels during January 2024, representing 7.4% of total US imports during the month.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The value of imports from the four aforementioned countries amounted to approximately $1.24 billion during the month of January 2024, according to the data.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The exports of the four Arab countries to the UAE recorded approximately 235 million barrels ($19 billion) during the entire year 2023, which constituted 10.1% of total US oil imports during the past year.[/rtl]

    [rtl]Saudi Arabia ranked first on the list of the largest Arab oil exporters to the United States, as the volume of its exports reached approximately 9.03 million barrels during the month of January 2024, with a total value amounting to 743.5 million dollars.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Iraq came in second place with a volume of exports to the United States of 4.89 million barrels, with a total value of $370.2 billion during the first month of 2024.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]While Kuwait ranked third on the list in terms of export volume, amounting to 0.77 million barrels, equivalent to $58.9 million.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]As for Libya, it ranked fourth in terms of export volume, amounting to 0.7 million barrels, but it surpassed Kuwait in the ranking in terms of value ($66.5 million) during January 2024, according to the latest data issued by the US Census Bureau.[/rtl]

    [rtl]Despite the increase in the volume of US oil imports, their value decreased relatively, recording $13.68 billion during the month of January, compared to about $13.79 billion during the same month in 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]While the value of January 2024 imports decreased by about $146 million, compared to December 2023 imports of $13.83 billion.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]This is mainly due to the change in average oil prices in the comparison months between 2024 and 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The average price of America's oil imports during the first month of 2024 was approximately $66.18 per barrel, while its average was approximately $70.9 per barrel during the same month of 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The average price of imports for the month of December 2023 was approximately $70.54 per barrel, according to US Census Bureau data.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]On the other hand, the volume of US crude oil exports increased to 125.4 million barrels (4.04 million barrels per day) during the month of January 2024, compared to 108.7 million barrels (3.5 million barrels per day) during the same month of 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Comparison of Arab exports with December 2023[/rtl]
    [rtl]US oil imports from Saudi Arabia and Iraq increased during the month of January 2024, compared to the previous month (December 2023), while imports decreased relatively from Kuwait, and sharply from Libya.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The volume of Saudi oil exports to the United States rose to 9.03 million barrels in January, compared to about 7.09 million barrels in December 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]America's imports of Iraqi oil also rose to 4.89 million barrels during the first month of 2024, compared to about 3.86 million barrels during the last month of 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]While Libyan oil exports to the United States fell sharply to 0.7 million barrels in January 2024, compared to about 2.45 million barrels in December 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]US oil imports from Kuwaiti oil also decreased to 0.77 million barrels during January 2024, compared to about 0.78 million barrels during December 2023.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The UAE did not export any quantities of oil to the United States during the first month of 2024, compared to the previous month in which it exported 1.22 million barrels, according to comparative data published by the Energy Research Unit.[/rtl]
