The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that Hussein "met with the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett Majorek, in his office in Washington."

During the meeting, according to the statement, they "discussed developments on the political scene in Iraq and the important role that Iraq plays in the region."

They also discussed "bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the latest developments in the regional situation in the region and their impact on Iraq," and the two sides touched on "the repercussions of the war on Gaza and its consequences and the issues of security and terrorism represented by ISIS movements in Iraq and Syria."
