Shafaq News/ Iraq ranked first in the Arab world and 61st globally out of 199 countries, on the list of the highest average IQ, according to a recently issued American research study for the year 2024.
The study published by the American magazine Ceoworld, viewed by Shafaq News Agency, said that countries that consistently score high scores in cognitive ability have succeeded in developing strong educational systems, given priority to research and development, and implemented efficient policies, and as a result, their populations showed a high average in the rate of Intelligence over time.
She explained that measuring IQ includes carefully designed and calibrated tests to ensure accuracy and fairness. However, IQ is just one measure of cognitive ability and may not include all aspects of human intelligence.
According to the study, Japan has the highest average IQ, which is 106.48, indicating that this high IQ is the result of several factors, such as Japan's strict educational system, large investments in research and development, and effective policies, especially in the field of education and technology.
Iraq ranked 61st globally with the highest average IQ of 89.28. On the other hand, the countries with the lowest average are Nepal, Liberia, and Guatemala, with an average of 42.99, 45.07, and 47.72, respectively.
In the Arab world, Iraq ranked first in the Arab world with the highest average IQ, followed by Bahrain second, the Emirates third, Lebanon fourth, and Libya fifth, while Syria, Djibouti, Morocco, and Yemen ranked last with the lowest IQ.
It is noteworthy that Iraq has topped the list of Arab countries over the past years, according to an interactive map published by the "Targetmap" website of the average level of intelligence in countries of the world.
