Shafaq News/ The American “Media Line” website stated that although the military and security issues between Iraq and the United States will be addressed during the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani to Washington, they will not be the dominant issues of the visit, but on the contrary, the focus will be on Strengthening economic relations and cooperation in broad areas, including education and the environment.

The American website quoted an official in the US State Department as saying that: Al-Sudani will meet during his visit with President Joe Biden, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
The official explained that "the military and security relationship will form an important part of the talks," but the main focus will be on broader issues related to the direction of relations in the future.

The American report, translated by Shafaq News Agency, indicated that the talks come at a critical time as the two countries engage in a dialogue about the future of the military alliance led by the United States, in the wake of the recent tensions and clashes between American forces and armed factions, which were exacerbated by broader regional conflicts, including That is the Israeli war in Gaza.
The report stated that Al-Sudani had expressed, in January, his desire to end the American military presence in Iraq.
The report indicated that Iraq and the United States have what it described as a “complex history” since the US-led invasion in 2003, then its withdrawal in 2011, and then its return again in 2014.
The report pointed out that the talks that the Sudanese will hold in Washington will further determine the size of the Iraqi-American partnership, and the extent of movement towards a new phase of joint cooperation.
Earlier this morning, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani left the capital, Baghdad, heading to the United States of America.
A statement issued by the Sudanese media office stated that the latter heads a government and parliamentary delegation and representatives of the private sector, at the beginning of an official visit at the invitation of US President Joseph Biden.
Al-Sudani is scheduled to arrive in Washington to meet with US President Joe Biden on April 15, in his first visit since taking office in October 2022.
In an article he wrote recently, Al-Sudani considered the meeting he will have with President Joe Biden during his visit to the United States of America "will be an opportunity to put the American-Iraqi partnership on a new and more sustainable basis."
