    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Monday (April 15, 2024), the Foreign Relations Committee in the House of Representatives revealed the role of Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani in extinguishing the “regional fires,” while indicating that “the Iraqi interior” is safe.
Committee member Abbas al-Jubouri, in an interview with “Baghdad Today,” ruled out any repercussions of the escalation between Tehran and Tel Aviv that might occur deep inside Iraq, indicating that “the matter will stop at this point and be confined between Tel Aviv and Tehran, and our country is safe from any consequences.”
Al-Jubouri added, "Sudani's policy revolves around putting out fires, whether locally or regionally. He also succeeded in pushing Baghdad away from any conflicts, and he seeks to formulate dialogues that enhance stability and calm the situation not only in Iraq but in the region by adopting policies to solve problems and crises." " .
Al-Jubouri pointed out, "The importance of Iraq's role in resolving the region's crises and turning Baghdad into a point of understanding to push the parties to a dialogue table because everyone has come to realize that any slide into comprehensive war means a disaster that will not affect one country or another."
Yesterday, Sunday, the leader of the Lebanese Armed Forces parliamentary bloc, Brigadier General Wahbi Qatisha, predicted the nature of the expected Israeli response to Iran, after the night of missiles and marches on Saturday evening .
Qatisha told “Baghdad Today” that “Iran’s reaction towards the Zionist entity after it attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria is not a means of saving face and highlighting Iran’s power in the region. Otherwise, the American side is aware of Iran’s timing of the launch of the marches and missiles, the date of their arrival and the targeted locations.” ", indicating that "Tehran wanted to respond to Tel Aviv in this way so as not to lose its allies in the region and be accused of being unable to respond to the Zionist entity ."
He added, "The circle of conflict will not expand after the Iranian bombing, especially since it did not cause the death of any Zionist, which means that there is no possibility of any reactions as a result of what happened to Tel Aviv," adding, "But the Israeli forces may go towards assassinating an Iranian scientist, official, or general." Inside or outside Iran, but Tehran will not be subjected to a military bombardment because this will increase the popularity of the Iranian government, and this is what Israel does not want to strengthen,” he said .
Regarding Lebanon’s intervention by bombing the Zionist entity, Brigadier General Wahbi Qatisha stated that “Israel may not want to expand its front against Lebanon at the present time, and the conflict may expand in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah if the war with Hamas in Gaza ends .  ”
Last Saturday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched an attack on the Israeli entity with more than 130 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, targeting in total only a military base and a military airport, while no reports revealed any major damage or human losses, while American and Israeli reports indicated that Most of the planes and missiles were repelled, and most of them did not enter Israeli airspace. On the other hand, Iran says that it succeeded in striking the specified targets.
