     , a member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, Representative Waad Al-Qaddu, announced on Tuesday the formation of a subcommittee to follow up on the first amendment to the Iraqi passport law.
    Al-Qaddo said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The Parliamentary Security Committee held an expanded meeting to discuss the draft law on the first amendment to the Civil Defense Law No. (44) of 2013, in addition to discussing the proposal for the first amendment to the Passport Law No. (32) of 2017, which includes paragraphs "There are many matters of importance in light of the developments taking place."
    He added, "The committee decided to form a subcommittee to follow up on the proposal for the first amendment to the Passports Law and prepare a report on it so that it can be submitted to the presidency of the Council in order to include it for second reading in the upcoming Council sessions." He pointed out that "the committee will conduct a series of hosting events for those concerned in order to obtain the opinions of all parties within the framework of supporting... Options for amendment with more vital points.”
    He pointed out that “the committee is determined to proceed with the amendment mechanisms, especially since there are a number of points that will be reformulated according to more comprehensive and effective principles.”
