The current month of April witnessed an Iraqi diplomatic and governmental movement that sums up decades of instability, fluctuation and tension in foreign relations with the countries of the region and influential foreign countries. Less than 4 days after the return of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to Baghdad, coming from a successful visit to the United States in which a realistic activation took place. For the Strategic Framework Agreement signed in 2011; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was a guest of Iraq yesterday, Monday, and signed with Sudanese the strategic framework agreement between the two countries, which is the first of its kind since the founding of the two states in their modern versions in the 1920s.

He believed that “activating the work of the Joint Higher Coordination Committee (HCC) between Baghdad and Washington in order to begin the first steps of implementing the agreement is an actual success for the Sudanese government in order to move to a new phase of bilateral relations, especially since it framed the form of the relationship between the two parties and clarified it without ambiguity or confusion about the terms and obligations.” “It will lead to a transition from the stage of ink written on paper, theorizing, discussions and memorandums of understanding to the stage of implementation and bilateral cooperation on the ground.”
He pointed out that "the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at this particular time to sign a strategic agreement similar to what was brought about in the Strategic Framework Agreement with the United States confirms beyond doubt the sincerity and veracity of our vision that we spoke about of the necessity of giving priority to economic alliances over military and political alliances, which leads to... To sustainable development and actual stability for the region that removes the tension and pressure resulting from the transfer of intractable crises.” For his part, the head of the “Osoul” Foundation for Economic Development and Sustainable Development, Khaled Al-Jabri, indicated in an interview with “Al-Sabah” that, “In general, signing agreements with Turkey is a positive step in the right direction - even if they do not have specifics at the present time.” - But it is an essential step on which the future between the two countries will be built, and in general these agreements will bring positive economic benefits to the two countries, facilitating intra- and international trade operations towards Europe in the north and towards the Gulf in the south.
