The government media team confirmed that the electronic governance system has achieved many benefits, including reducing the phenomenon of forgery and leakage of official documents, while noting that the Ur platform provides more than 375 electronic services to citizens with simple and easy procedures.
Lt. Gen. spokesman Haider Majeed said in an interview: E-government is one of the government’s most important priorities in its program, and receives great attention from Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to simplify the procedures provided to citizens in all state institutions.
He added: The National Data Center Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is continuing its procedures in the process of automating programs within the electronic governance system under the supervision of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. He stressed that one of the most important programs that the Center is working on within the electronic governance system is the Ur electronic portal, in which the services provided have exceeded 370-375 electronic services, including all ministries, sectors and their directorates.
He pointed out: The Ur portal is easy to use and is available to all citizens to register via their phone number, then choose the ministry, directorate, sector, and then the service, and all transactions available within this portal are completed electronically. Noting that this process contributed to facilitating the completion of transactions and eliminating bureaucracy and administrative and financial corruption, as well as reducing the phenomenon of forgery and leakage of official documents, and abolishing the system of validating paper documents and transferring them electronically.
He continued: The registration process through the Ur platform has so far reached 82 institutions between ministries, authorities and governorates that have entered this system, and also up to 5 million electronic documents have been issued, a health document issued instead of paper ones, as the platform has contributed to completing citizens’ transactions.
He explained: The National Data Center is working to provide the latest service in coordination with the Ministry of Communications, which is the electronic signature. The trial broadcast of this service is scheduled to take place in the Companies Registration Department, and will include companies and then be circulated to the rest of the citizens. Stressing that this process will facilitate the completion of transactions.
He pointed out that the electronic signature in some limited transactions does not require the person concerned to be present at the institution. Pointing out that the electronic automation process will include the Kurdistan region, as the system for verifying breasts and some systems and completing and following up transactions between the center and the region have been included within the Ur electronic portal and have been put into effect.
He stated: The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, through the Data Center Department, is determined to move towards digital transformation, and there is seriousness from the government in dealing with this file, and work is continuing and high-level coordination between the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, through the National Data Center, and all state institutions (ministries, agencies, and governorates). All of these measures came in order to work to simplify government procedures and services provided to citizens.
He pointed out: There is an advisory service via the toll-free number 5599 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. that receives calls free of charge to inquire about services, the registration mechanism, and any obstacles and problems that may occur.
