NEW YORK DAILY NEWS / BY Ginger Adams Otis

Mystery surrounds the fate of the blonde, smiling sniper who became the face of women Kurdish fighters holding off ISIS forces in the Syrian town of Kobani.

Reports surfaced Monday that the fierce sharpshooter — rumored to have killed at least 100 militants — died along with several other women soldiers in an ISIS assault on the border town near Turkey.

Known as Rehana, the Kurdish Peshmerga fighter was part of an all-women militia charged with defending Kobani from Islamic State militants.

The vivacious young woman became the face of the 10,000-strong unit when a picture of her emerged on social media flashing the "V" sign after a victorious rout of the jihadists earlier this summer.

Rehana might have been among the scores of Kurdish soldiers killed during a recent assault on Kobani by the militants — and some reports said ISIS sickos also beheaded her and posted pictures of her severed head online.

The unconfirmed reports swirled as photos emerged of Kurdish soldiers burying several woman fighters after the recent battle. It's not known if Rehana was among them.

The bloodshed continued Monday when members of al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front and other Syrian rebel factions launched simultaneous attacks on army checkpoints, police headquarters and the governor's office in northwestern Syria.

The attacks were focused on the city of Idlip, according to the Associated Press.

The city has remained under government control even as ISIS extremists rampaged through dozens of villages and towns around.

Female fighters like this one have been key to holding off ISIS forces in Syria, but several of them may have been killed during weekend fighting.

The fighting is separate from the clashes between ISIS and Syrian Kurdish fighters for control of Kobani, a strategic town on the border with Turkey.
