    Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministerial Council for National Security approved, this evening, Wednesday, the 2024-2028 strategy, which is designed to be integrated and in line with the government program.
    The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasul Abdullah, said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired this evening, Wednesday, a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, during which... Discussing the latest developments in the security situation throughout Iraq, discussing the issues on the agenda that will enhance security and stability, and identifying the most important requirements for the success of the security and intelligence work of our various security sectors.
    He added, "The meeting witnessed the approval of the (National Security Strategy 2024-2028), which was prepared in accordance with the approved standards, to be integrated and in line with the government program, and the recommendation to the Council of Ministers for approval."
    He pointed out that "the Ministerial Council discussed the plans prepared to secure the strategic economic and developmental projects being implemented in the capital, Baghdad, and the rest of the governorates, and to provide protection for them and their workers, given their great importance to the government and its approach to achieving sustainable development and advancing the economic reality of the country."
    Abdullah stated, "The Council agreed to exempt the Kurdistan Region Guard Forces of Iraq from customs duties related to military sales, similar to the Ministries of Defense and Interior, and the Counter-Terrorism Service, provided that the arming of these forces is through the Ministry of Defense in the federal government." 
    In another axis, he explained, “The Council decided to abolish the Karkh and Rusafa Operations Commands, and amend the affiliation of the military units and units within the two sectors, so that they are linked to its highest formation in all aspects, with the exception of the movements, in which the units and units in the two sectors will be linked to the Baghdad Operations Command to ensure command, control, and security performance as required.”
