Shafaq News/ The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq decided, on Thursday, to accept the appeal to suspend the technical and financial procedures for the Kurdistan Region elections.
A document issued by the Council showed that, after review and deliberation, it was found that the appeal was submitted within the legal period and it was decided to accept it in form. The document indicated that the Election Commission found it necessary to stop work on all technical and financial procedures, especially those related to the allocation of equipment, the printing of ballot papers, the work of the examining company, and the implementation of the tasks included in the operational schedule for the elections, which cannot be addressed from a technical and procedural standpoint until the case pending before the Federal Court is resolved.
