    [size=45]Mr. “Maurizio Griganti,” the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Iraq, received at his residence today, Monday, May 20, 2024, Mr. “Fares Issa,” head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s representation in Baghdad, accompanied by his private secretary, Mr. “Saman Al-Jaf.”[/size]
    [size=45]During the meeting, they discussed the latest political developments in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and the region, and ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy in various fields.[/size]
    [size=45]Ambassador Griganti expressed his thanks and gratitude for the visit of the Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government Representative, which he described as expressing the depth of the historical relationship between the Italian Republic, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Regional Government.[/size]
    [size=45]The Ambassador stressed that the level of relations between Italy and the Kurdistan Region began to develop during the past two decades, and this is an indication of Rome's interest in its relations with Erbil.[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, Professor Fares Issa stressed the importance of developing relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy and raising the level of cooperation between them in all fields, noting that Italy had an important role in the international coalition in the war to liberate Iraq from the terrorist organization ISIS.[/size]
    [size=45]The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government representation also referred to the general political situation and the role of the representation in strengthening relations between Erbil and Baghdad, stressing the necessity of holding transparent and fair elections in the Kurdistan Region in which all political forces and national and religious components participate.[/size]
    [size=45]At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Fares Issa presented a gift bearing the name “Peshmerga” to Mr. Ambassador, which expresses the symbol of security and peace.[/size]
