200 projects within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement

The Iraqi-Chinese Business Council revealed the existence of more than 200 projects that will be implemented in the future within the agreement between the two countries, while it estimated the Iraqi amounts there at 5 billion dollars.
The head of the council, Haider Al-Rubaie, told Al-Sabah: The governorates submitted more than 200 projects related to the strategic agreement through which Iraq provides 100,000 barrels to China, which later increased to 150,000 barrels, noting that the projects are on the table of the Prime Minister’s office. In preparation for its implementation during the next stage.
He added that the Iraqi funds in China resulting from the implementation of the agreement are estimated at $5 billion, noting that the Prime Minister launched some of these projects to serve the people and provide job opportunities.
Al-Rubaie pointed out that the committee proposed to the Chinese ambassador in Iraq to extend an invitation to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to visit China to discuss future joint projects between the two parties, explaining that the Iraqi Islamic, Arab Levant, and National Banks, Zain Iraq, Iraq International, and Assyria and Development Banks expressed their desire. By opening joint accounts with its Chinese counterparts, the association sent a letter to the Chinese embassy to choose one of them.
He pointed out that the committee aspires to support all Iraqi banks away from monopolizing the exchange of funds. If the banks are multiple and open with China, the transfer of funds is without interest or based on fees, adding that the Iraqi private sector suffers from the fact that the banks that transfer through the central bank in the “renminbi” currency They are charged large interest rates of up to 5%, which is reflected in the rise in goods in the market. Such a matter does not exist in all the world, which requires opening several outlets so that competition is beneficial to all Iraqi banks and facilitates the speed of completing transactions and financial transfers.
