Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, on Wednesday, the arrest of a group of defendants who targeted a number of restaurants and foreign agencies in the capital, Baghdad.
She said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “With specific operations based on accurate information, the security services in the Ministry of Interior were able to arrest a new group of defendants in incidents of attacks and vandalism that affected a number of KFC restaurants and foreign agencies in various areas of the capital, Baghdad.” During the past few days."
She stated, "The competent authorities in the Ministry of Interior initiated the necessary legal procedures against those arrested to complete their investigative papers, as the investigating judge decided to arrest them in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law."
She stressed that "security work is still continuing to pursue the rest of the elements who committed this illegal act for the purpose of arresting them and bringing them to justice to receive their just punishment."
During the past few days, the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, witnessed a number of branches of the KFC restaurant chain and American commercial agencies being attacked by people, some of them armed, who claimed to support Israel in its ongoing war against the Gaza Strip.
