Representative Mudar Al-Karawi confirmed today, Friday (June 14, 2024), that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani issued 4 important directives regarding the files of Diyala Governorate.
Al-Karawi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "An important meeting was held with Al-Sudani, to discuss several files about Diyala, including security and services, and ways to resolve the complex of forming the local government and the liberated areas, and efforts to return the remaining displaced families."
He added, "Al-Sudani interacted positively with the Diyala files and issued 4 important directives, the most prominent of which was ending the lagging projects file and resolving to restart them within a short period, and giving more space to finance strategic projects in the main services, supporting the liberated cities and villages, and finishing the remainder of the file for returning the displaced." And enhancing the security of all axes to prevent any violations.”
He pointed out that "the Prime Minister explained his government's directions to accelerate the pace of development of oil and gas fields in Diyala and ensure its transition to a greater economic situation through openness to large investments and giving a role to the people of the province in the upcoming job opportunities."
In April of last year, the head of the popular movement in Diyala, Ammar Shanba Al-Tamimi, revealed that 225 complaints had been submitted about huge corruption files in the governorate.
Al-Tamimi told "Baghdad Today", "Corruption is a scourge equal to the threat of terrorism in Diyala, and what we observe daily is terrifying because of the large amount of waste of public money in various forms."
He added, "225 complaints about the corruption file in Diyala were submitted by Representative Salah Zaini to the competent judicial authorities according to successive stages in order to conduct a transparent investigation with all its contents," stressing that "the complaints include tons of wasted money on projects that did not achieve the desired benefit." .
Al-Tamimi pointed out that "part of Diyala's stability is combating corruption, which has begun to penetrate greatly into state institutions, and we have warned of its danger time and again," stressing that "the movement believes in the justice of the Iraqi judiciary and its agencies in exposing the corrupt and issuing fair decisions against everyone who looted money."
